doesn't that erase your entire iTunes Library though?

anyway to do this without losing your entire iTunes Library? you guys really are having a terrible year huh? not to be mean, but as an apple fanatic, this is one TERRIBLE decision after a full year of terrible decisions.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016, 4 TBT3), macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Here are the directions that user turingtest2 posted:

1 - Backup what you have now.

2 - In the current version of iTunes use iTunes > Preferences > Advanced and make sure that Share iTunes Library XML with other applications is enabled.

3 - Close iTunes. Wait until it is properly closed and has stopped writing files.

4 - Make a copy of the XML file.

5 - Delete iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb and the folder Album Artwork. Empty the trash, or at least these items that you've sent to it.

6 - Install older version of iTunes.

7 - If your library is in the standard place it should open with a new empty library. If not you may need to create a new one in the same folder as before.

8 - Use File > Library > Import Playlist to import the copy of the XML you made earlier.

He's an iTunes guru. I've not installed 12.6.3 yet but before you do make a backup of the iTunes folder in your Music folder
