New message icon missing

When update happened. Message got messed up. Is anyone else having this problem. I have to find people in contacts a send a message from there. I heard rumors that Apple messes things up in your phone to get you to the Apple store to encourage you to get a new phone. I discounted those rumors. Now I’m not So sure

What do you mean by "messed up"? Try to be more descriptive with the problem, not your workaround.

Also, your thread title suggests that your Notification settings may have changed, check to see if Messages has the appropriate Notifications activated (Settings/ Notifications/ Messages). The minimum would be to have the "Badge App Icon" enabled to see that you have a new message.

You can continue to discount them, it isn't true. What exactly are you missing in Messages? How about providing a screenshot. What troubleshooting have you tried? Power the iPhone off, and then back on again. That should correct anything. The new message icon still exist in the upper right corner, just below the battery icon. Is that what you are referring to?
