High Sierra and External Audio Device Glitching / Problems

Ever since upgrading to High Sierra, my external audio devices (RME Fireface UFX and Apogee Duet) have been glitching out sporadically.

As an audio professional, this is an extremely frustrating situation. Reverting back to Sierra is not a palatable option at the moment.

Bumping. I see, searching these forums over the last 30 days, that there are quite a few people also experiencing audio issues with High Sierra.

I have not seen anyone provide console information as I have above, definitively documenting the issue.

On behalf of all the pro customers you guys at Apple have been neglecting for the last few years, could we at least get a formal acknowledgement of this issue, and that a fix is in the works ?

It has been suggested to me, by other audio professionals, to abandon Apple and move to Windows.

I would rather not...

FWIW, this is a users forum. Apple is not here. We're just end users like yourself.

Hopefully someone who has the same devices will respond or you will get results from your RME post.

A user in the RME forums ( Fireface UFX & High Sierra Issues (Page 1) — FireWire & USB series — RME User Forum ) has also reported this issue with external audio devices glitching under Sierra.

I'm having serious issues as well. Using an RME UFX II and running macOS High Sierra 10.13. Everything I record sounds like it's run through a bitcrusher filter. This is a brand new UFX II which was sent to me after a previous brand new UFX II was labeled as defective for the same issue. Does your audio sound like it's been run through a bitcrusher plugin as well or are the glitches different?

This occurs regardless of which DAW I record in (I use Logic Pro X in general but tested this in others with the exact same issue).
