Fixing Khmer Font in FCP

When I try to copy khmer text from a website or app and pasting it into FCP some of the fonts to do not display correctly. Is anyone having this same problem and how did you fix it?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), iOS 11.0.2

Make sure you set your font in FCP to one of those provided by Apple (Khmer MN, Khmer Sangam MN) and that the text you are pasting is standard Unicode.

I don’t have a solution but I recall seeing some threads here a while ago about similar problems with fonts for Asian languages- I think Thai, and also Tamil. Maybe there is a connection. I don’t know if those were resolved.
