I started to get this crackling sound from my speaker after updating to iOS 11.1.2. I have the iPhone 8 Plus and I can’t watch a single YouTube video without this terribly annoying sound ruin the entire experience. This is not good and I will be returning this device as soon as possible.

I actually got one phone replaced because of this issue but new one does the same... I spoke to apple live chat support, they suggest to completely wipe the phone and reinstall IOS via laptop which didnt help. They said this means that this is not software problem which I really doubt, it is just when you reinstall IOS it already has that bug in it...

Yeah I have exactly the same issue. My replacement at the Apple Store got denied. He said that my hardware works perfectly fine. It should be a software glitch. Dunno what is true now. Will reset my phone today again.

Same problem here as many of you already said, I've an iPhone 8 Plus, 256 GB, iOS 11.2.5.

At first I noted on the YouTube app and recently it appears it's getting worse and worse to the point that playing the bass on GarageBand sounds terribly bad.

This is ridiculous.

I have the popping on YouTube videos on my iPhone 8 Plus running 11.1.2 as well. Restarted phone, no change. Force restart, no change. Delete and reinstall YouTube app, no change.

Happens to me all the time obviously apple doesn't care of it's not fixed by now this phone has been out for a while try calling apple

I also have the same problem on an iphone8. nothing done so far including restoring the phone has solved this.

I had the same problem on iPhone 8 Plus I am on 11.1.1 and I see lots of people with same problem on 11.1.2 or below so is there anyone above that software with same issue has anyone got this gixed

My iphone 8 is in 11.2.2 and the upper speaker problem persists.

True. Mine and my mom Iphone 8plus did popping sound too. Sent back to reseller and said everything is fine. Very frustrating and disappointed.

What was the iOS version on your device before you started experiencing the crackling sound?

Are you sure this crackling started after iOS update?

I have the same issue, new Iphone8 from the weekend and clitches and sound not right when playing music through the speaker. Latest IOS and has been rebuilt.
