My iphone 7 will not turn off, swipe, open any apps, and the Safari app Icon is dimmed .How do I fix this?

Try force restarting the device. Hold the sleep/wake and volume down button until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot.

Hold down the power and volume down buttons until Apple logo. I read this on this website and solved my frustrating 2 day problem. It used to be the power and “home“ button. It has changed. Hope this helps.

Had same issue I let my iphone7 go totally out of power then left it dead for few hours then charged it overnight then hard reset it and sprang back to life again.

If you have an iPhone 7, do a force restart as described above. The next steps in user troubleshooting are restore to backup and restore to factory; testing after each step.

I have this problem too. i hold the sleep/wake button and it doesn’t shut off. I can’t answer any phone calls or open any apps or even settings

It won't let me do a hard restart either.
