How can I remove Avast Clean Up Software

I am not able to remove Avast Clean Up Software from my MacBook Pro OS 10.12.6, because the system says it is open, but it is not. Please tell me, how can I remove this from my system? Avast doesn’t help, they said ask Apple. Thanks!

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6), Avast Security

Thanks Stevejobsfano0123,

I just i followed your suggestion, but I got: "The operation can’t be completed because a required item is in use."

On Monday I was prompted with a message to purchase Avast VPN, I accepted it and start the process. However, before installing the software, I noticed that it is not the VPN, but Avast Clean Up Software that is on my screen. I immediately stopped and did not instal the software, however it is in my system and the logo in my Launchpad, and it's coming up to my screen asking me to enter the license number, which I don't have.
