Since the last update, my home button to unlock doesn't work about 75% of the time. I have discovered that pressing the top button several times will bring up a screen that allows me to "cancel" and then the home button will work. Annoying but it works. Anyone else find a way to get this fixed?

I have this problem too since upgrading to the latest and previous latest. My initial upgrade to 11 didn’t have this problem. Really started with 11.0.2
but your description is a little bit different than mine. My home button works 100% once logged into the iPad. Also the touchID works 100% once logged on. It’s really an issue just at the logon screen. Only on that screen sometimes for many times the home button doesn’t respond to logon.
to wake up the device the home button also works 100% of the time.
so it’s really limited to the login screen.
too bad Apple never gives support because Apple considers customers useless worthless piece of crap 😟
wish they had some customer support like adobe, microsoft and other professional companies have.
of course you can call paid support, but this is obviously a bug by Apple so i’m definitely not paying for the mistakes of Apple.
I have had the same problem and it gets extremely annoying. I work as a paramedic and ER tech so I have gloves on all the time. I have an Ipnone 6s plus and this started when the iOS for the 8 came out. Every time I take my iPhone out to look up a medication, side effects or other important info my iphone home screen keeps asking to "press home button" but it never works the fingerprint scanner works But I have gloves on! then I try to ask siri and she pulls up" this is what I found on the web" but I still can't access the home button to put my code in because no mater how many times I press the home button it won't work until I reset or turn it off and on again. extremely frustrating makes me believe apple is truly forcing people to upgrade when they don't need to by screwing with the OS. and Ive reset and re installed the iOS many times still does it and I've finally just stopped updating iOS's because of this.
I have the same issue with an IPhone 5s and of course Apple is no help. It’s obviously a software issue cause it’s only one circumstance where the issue arises and not for all uses of the home button. I’m regretting upgrading. Let’s just hope they get things figured out and put out an update that fixes the major issues with 11.
