I use the TD app and fixed this issue by going into profiles/settings within the app. There is a tab for Touch ID . I simply turned it on and off. The app asked for my password again and once entered, it enabled Touch ID again

Each of my banking apps has a setting within the app itself (i.e., not accessed from the Settings app) that controls whether Touch ID is used. You my have already checked inside the apps but it isn't clear to me that you did.
In addition to FoxFifth comments...
I have found that occasionally my banking apps need to be "reminded." If you see an image of a fingerprint on the screen, touch it and the TouchID screen will appear.
Thanks for your response! Yes my banking apps both provide the option to enable Touch ID, however they both have an ‘x’ beside this option saying that Touch ID isn’t enabled in the settings...but I do have iit enabled. It’s so weird and frustrating because when I compare the settings side by side between my new phone and my 6s there is no difference. Perhaps I need to call the banks directly.
Did you end up get this fixed? The same thing is happening to me. I have 3 banking apps, Touch ID works on everything else and not banking. I went from iPhone 6 to 8Plus and all settings seem to be correctly configured. The Touch ID comes up, but when I enter a fingerprint I’m getting an error that says ‘invalid credentials???’
thank you
