Is there a way to block #images from iMessages app?

Is there a way to block #images from iMessages app? Gifs of dancing bikinis is something I would rather blocked. Even with parental controls on it still works. Also the App Store is blocked but the App Store icon is still available in iMessage is this normal? Is it possible to have an option to disable editing of iMessage add ons like it does with twitter?

This only removes it until someone chooses to turn the app back on. It can't be removed from the iMessage App for some reason. Apple needs to make this something that can be removed in the Restrictions section.

Hello Ananta Krishna,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you want to not see the #images feature in the Messages app. To do this, please follow each of these steps from this resource on your situation:

Turn on parental controls for #images and other iMessage apps

To control access to #images and other iMessage apps, you can remove the apps from your app drawer and turn on Restrictions for downloading iMessage apps.

To remove an app from your app drawer:

  1. Open Messages, tap User uploaded file, and enter a contact or tap on an existing conversation.
  2. Tap User uploaded file, then tap User uploaded file in the lower-left corner.
  3. Swipe left over the app, then tap Delete.

To turn on Restrictions for iMessage apps:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Restrictions.
  2. Tap Enable Restrictions.
  3. Create a Restrictions passcode. You need your Restrictions passcode to change your settings or to turn off Restrictions.
  4. Turn off Installing Apps.

Learn more about using Restrictions on your iOS device.

I haven’t followed the instructions exactly as this would require me to remove the restrictions and then re enter all the white lists for websites.

But it doesn’t work if restrictions are already on. Deleting #images does work but choosing edit Frim the top right allows it to be turned on again. Installing apps is blocked but the App Store is still there (although it doesn’t seem to let me actually install anything).
