hi. I don't know where to post theis problem seeing as it doesn't really fit in any of the catagories but I hope you can help. I just recently bought Age of Empires III for PC mainly for the amazing graphics. I installed it on my PC and started playing and everything works fine. except that the graphics are more suited for a $10 game. I've seen actual screenshots, NOT "screenshots" that the microsoft releases to promote it and they are beautiful. But when I play it, the trees look like cardboard dioramas and the animation is horrible.I mean these graphics aren't even worth to be on a $10 dollar game. No exageration. Is it my computer? Is it the game? Does anyone else have this problem?
Concerning how good or bad AOE III is running on the MacBook, everybody in this thread should add the information wether she/he is running the MacOS version of it, or the Windows Version under BootCamp.
It runs awesome! I have a standard middle white macbook with 2.0GHz and 1GB RAM. It has never lagged on me during gameplay and each level loads in few seconds. I even played a LAN game against my brother today and had no problems. The settings are at the default which i think is the highest. I highly recommend this game!
i have no answers, but since we're on the topic of AOE, i have a question. my macbook is the 1.83ghz core 2 duo model with 512mb RAM and 64mb VRAM. this is listed as the minimum system requirements for the game (other than processor speed, which is listed as min. 1.4ghz). can anyone tell me if it will run ok on my computer, or will it lag or require the graphics to be turned down, since it's running on the minimum system requirements? i'd just like to find out before i go ahead and get the game. :-D thanks!
It might run a bit laggy because of your RAM. The graphics should be fine if you had 1GB, but since u only have 512 you might need to turn them down. But i'm just guessing. It could run flawlessly
if you do decide to buy the game, I'll sell it to you. It's opened but i assure that everything is there as came. I might upgrade my macbook to run the minimum, because i found that that was the problem, but that will be a bit pricey. If you do want to buy it though, i'd be happy to sell it.
