IPhone6plus came in mail with touch issues, unresponsive, blackouts etc. waiting to bring it in and cracked it, is it still covered?

I ordered a iPhone6plus in the mail and when it came it was automatically having touch issues out the box. I would get the lines up top, clicking random apps I wasn't clicking, or totally bring unresponsive and sometimes the screen blacks out while on phone calls. I waiting to take it in to the store to have the problem resolved and I cracked my screen.. would they still cover this because the touch issues came with my phone? It's also starting to over heat and have this like darkness over one half of the screen on the parts that felt really hot. What should I do about this, only had the phone a couple months or so.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10.3.3
