Running Windows 10. Downloaded I-Tunes. When I try and sign in to set it up, I keep getting an error message that says "can't connect to apple server." I've tried everything but can't seem to get past this barrier. I would appreciate ANY help I can get.

I see that you've downloaded and installed iTunes on your Windows 10 PC, but you're unable to sign in. I'm happy to help.
The first step for this issue is to exit iTunes, then restart your PC. Once it comes back up, see if you're able to sign in.
Resolve issues between iTunes and third-party security software -- If restarting your PC didn't resolve the issue, follow the steps in this article.

negative on everything I've tried. I use my laptop at work which has a barracuda firewall, but I don't think that's the issue because I'm able to reach the Apple servers on diagnostic tests. I run Norton Internet Security so I have the Microsoft Windows firewall turned off in case there was a conflict there. I've flushed the DNS servers, I've rebooted, I've run the I-Tunes as administrator but I still get the error message "error connecting to the Apple ID server." I've even uninstalled I-Tunes and re-installed it and come up with the same problem. This one's a bugbear. Mark Donaldson
Win 7PC updated to 12.7.0.166. It takes a minute to become live. But the biggest problem can't open the store or check updates. I have tried the complete method uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes. still the same. Last time this happened Itunes had another update. I hope this is the case.
well nothing has worked. I don't get it. A simple program connecting to the internet. what's so difficult about that??? I just want to listen to the music I've purchased. I just don't understand for the life of me why everything has to be so difficult.
alas and alak, I went and downloaded iTunes from an older version from last year, but had the same result. Error connecting to the Apple ID server. Strangely enough, if I run diagnostics, it has no trouble connecting to the Apple hierarchy. Very strange.
12.7.1 fixes all the server problems. I f you can't using Help and updates, then use Windows start menu, all programs, then open Apple software update. I did and it fixed the problem. Before you open iTunes restart commuter
Itunes needs another update but I can't convenience apple itunes it is their problem. this happened to me with the last update 12.6 apple finally had an update 12.6.5
. update fixed this issue.
It could be your Norton blocking the connection. Try uninstalling it temporarily and see if you can then connect.
I tried removing Norton. It didn't change any thing. apple has to recognize it is their problem and come up with a patch as they did with 12.6
well, Apple just sent down another version but same result. Can't connect to Apple ID server. Either with Norton off or on. I have tried everything. Not sure what to do at this point.
