Calendar does not work on Apple Watch

I have just bought an Apple Watch. Unfortunately, the CALENDAR does not synchronise with my iPhone. I have tried the suggested RESET found on various forums but the watch still says , "No more events today".

Can anyone suggest what's wrong?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), macOS Sierra (10.12), uprated memory (the mac, not me)

Hi

The following steps may help:

Check your default calendar:

  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar - select your iCloud calendar.

To select which calendars are shown on your Apple Watch:

  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Calendar.
  • Under the "Calendars" heading:
    • Either select Mirror my iPhone.
    • Or select Custom > select your preferred calendars > tap Done (upper-right).

Reset your sync data:

  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Reset > tap again on Reset Sync Data.
  • Nothing will seem to happen, but the process will run in the background / invisibly to you, so allow some time afterwards for it to complete.

To view your calendar on your Apple Watch, follow the instructions here:

If necessary, it may also help to restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch:

Thanks for your input. I was delighted to get a reply.

Unfortunately, having tried all this, my calendar events do not show up on my watch. I have spent a lot of time with an Apple Advisor and no solution has yet been reached. I'm expecting to hear more on Friday. The phone and the watch have both been reset. We have even tried setting up a new calendar, making it default and switching off the old one. Nothing seems to work. I get calendar notifications and all the other apps synchronise fully. The calendar still says, "No events today." and "No upcoming events."

I suspected that there was a setting on my iPhone that was preventing the data being shared but I can't find anything. I've wasted a lot of time on this.

As you can imagine, this is a pain because it's one of the main features I want to use and I feel a bit cheated. Everything else (as far as I'm aware) seems to work perfectly. Any further ideas would be gratefully received as I'd really like to get this resolved.

Thanks again.
