How do I rotate a text within table Pages 6.3

The same way that you do in body text — you don't rotate it. Feature not available. And... you cannot drop text rotated in a Text box, or Shape into the Table cell, or even copy/paste that Shape with text to Preview to save as an image to place back in that Table cell.

Rotating text in a Table cell is a feature of a professional word processing application (e.g. Word 2016 for Mac/Office 2016) and not Pages, which is a consumer application.

Pages was purposely designed for the non-business, entry-level consumer, and lacks a great many features that took Microsoft 35 years to build into MS Word. I categorize Word as a professional, business-grade word processing application because its feature set is primarily the result of decades of corporate user requirements. This includes the ability to rotate text in a table.

Best you can do is make a Textbox with the text in it, turn off Text Wrap for the Textbox, rotate the Textbox and place that over the cell in the table.

Group them if you don't want the two to move apart.

Make sure both Textbox and Table are Stay on Page (i.e. floating) and not "Move with Text".

Tested it in Pages 6.3 and they group fine.

The grouped Table and Textbooks can be made to Move with Text (i.e. Inline in text) in the text, and the text in the Textboxes and Table cells can still be edited without ungrouping.

Ok. Works now in v6.3.

…just that it is cr@p at everything else.

It could be pilot error here, but Pages v6.3 would not let me group a table and a rotated Text box, or Shape with text in either. Could select one or the other, and if I did a command+A to select both, no group appeared on the Arrange panel.
