I bought used AirPods and paired them to my phone and my iCloud. Can the previous owner still track them in their iCloud account?

I bought some used AirPods and was able to pair them to my phone and my iCloud account. They had the previous owners name, which I changed via my phone. My question is since they were previously on the other persons icloud, can they track my location now that they are technically under my iTunes account? I bought them from a guy on Craigslist so I don’t want random people knowing where I live.
