I want to lock my iPad using the serial number.

My iPad was recently stolen and i believe the thief turned off the “find my feature.” The apple ID shows doesnt have it listed. But its listed on my find my list as offline

iPad Mini Wi-Fi, iOS 9.3.5

Unless the thief had your Apple ID passcode, they could not have turned off Find My iPhone. The serial number has nothing to do with locking the phone or finding it.

Your iPad is listed as off line likely because they could not get it onto the internet. The “Find My’ only works over the internet.


If you had a passcode then they should not be able to access your device unless they guess it. Which means they cannot unlock it to use it or access the data on it.
