Apple AirPods disconnecting and reconnecting

Hi recently my newly purchased apple airpods have started play up.

When I am listing to music for a long amount of time they start disconnecting and reconnecting to my Iphone 6,

also when I pause/ play them they glitch and play the sound like the one when you first put them in your ear.

I was just wondering if I should send them back to apple to be replaced or if there is a simple thing i am doing wrong.

Thanks Caleb

iPhone 6, iOS 11.0.3, Airpods

I was having what sounds like the exact same problem (and the same frustration). After looking around a little bit, I did the following and it seems to have fixed the problem.

1. Forget the device on your Mac/iphone (and subsequently it will forget it on your Apple Watch if you have that)

2. Put the AirPods in their case, keep the lid open and press and hold the pairing button on the back for at least 15 seconds. The light will go from pulsating white to pulsating amber. I guess this resets the AirPods.

3. Close and open the lid and your iPhone should discover them. Connect and hope for the best.

Mine were doing the connect/disconnect thing when I wasn't using them, but they were in my ear. I could watch or listen to something and it would mostly stay connected. When not listening to anything, they would connect and disconnect with the sound in my ears. Resetting them seems to have fixed it.

Your recommended procedure worked for me; however, I had to hold the AirPod case button for at least 25 seconds to successfully reset the AirPods.

This is the second time I had to reset the AirPods since I received them on 12/25/2017. The location is the same: my home office. I suspect I have a one or more devices (computer and/or peripheral devices) causing some kind of interference.
