Loose wifi after mac awakes from sleep

2 day old imac 21" 4k, 16mb, fusion drive etc etc

After I upgraded to High Sierra everytime the iMac wakes from sleep mode I have no internet access although it keeps searching for a network to join but does not seem to find one and remains disconnected from the internet, I can get it working by turning off wifi then turn it back on and works as it should.

Anyone else having this issue after upgrading to Hi Sierra? 😮

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13), null

Hi srome ,

I understand that when you wake your iMac from sleep, it is no longer connected to Wi-Fi and will not reconnect. I'm happy to provide some help for this issue.

First, make sure that your network is set as a preferred network using the steps in the following article:

macOS Sierra: Choose preferred Wi-Fi networks

Then, use the following article to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity:

Hi,

Thanks for the info, I've actually managed to sort the problem out it was caused by BT HomeHub 6, simple restart of the router fix the problem, iMac's been working over a week now without any problems at all 🙂

On WIFI connection ONLY

After waking from sleep the iMac would not reconnect to the internet.

Epson printer was not seen by the iMac at all (Wireless Connection)

Connected via etnernet

after waking from sleep the internet access worked straight away

Epson printer was seen and installed by the iMac no problems at all (Wireless Connection)
