Do not Disturb not working for iOS 11.0.3

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 11, my Do not Disturb stopped working. When enabled, my phone is set up to only ring when numbers in my "favorites" call but it rings for all numbers. I have an iPhone 6S plus if it makes any difference.

Have you double-checked to make sure that you don't have DND on a schedule? What other steps have you tried?

I'm inclined to suggest that you reset all settings. It's not exactly fun to redo all of them but it often helps this type of problem. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You may also want to try restoring from a back up.

For what it's worth, DND works fine on my phone under iOS 11 so, there is hope.

Best of luck.

I am also having issues with DND. It's always worked just fine, until the new upgrade I think. I have favorites, and those should be the only one who ring through, but this morning, I had a call ring through at 3 AM, 5 AM, and 2 at 6 AM (and the moon icon was showing up at the top of my screen, indicating it was still on, and none of the numbers were on my favorites list). I think there is a bug.

What troubleshooting have you done? Have you done anything I suggested above? If it's a bug, it's one that's affecting very few people. So, it's important to rule out other causes.

No, I already knew that all of my settings were correct. I didn't change anything from Mon and Tue, to Wed, and it worked fine on Tue/Wed morning, then all of a sudden on Thurs morning, it started not filtering calls through. All my settings were the same. After speaking with an Apple tech, and doing some tests, I had to backup and restore my phone. So far, so good...

So, the troubleshooting step that Apple had you do was to back up and restore the phone, one of the same ones I suggested back on 10/18. Good to know it worked.

I am having the same issue on an iPhone 7 using iOS 11.0.3. It would seem to me from the number of reports that have been made and the fact that Apple is requesting affected users to do a restore, that there is an anomaly in the iOS that needs to be corrected. Hopefully 11.0.4 will address this 🙂.

A restore is a fairly generic troubleshooting step. Apple will recommend if for almost any problem not fixed by restarting the phone. What it often does is clear out corrupted data. Given how few people are reporting this issue, it's more likely that this is the problem (can be cause by any update or by random chance) than that there is a bug in iOS.

There will be no "11.0.4". iOS 11.1 has already. been released.

I also have an issue with Do Not Disturb, possibly also since upgrading to 11 (now on 11.1.2). Several times in the night my phone alerts waking me up - usually a single "Ding". I've not been able to work out what is causing it, as there are no correlating alerts displayed. I noticed the other night that it dinged when 100% charged and also if the power reconnects, so am wondering whether it is something like that causing it. However, the cause is not the point; the point is that I have set my phone to Do Not Disturb, and it is regularly waking me up. Its incredibly frustrating that such an important feature is just not working. To add insult to injury, when I was woken last night, I reached over and silenced the ringer, only to be worken up an hour later by the vibration; aaaggh!
