Hello Jerad,It is my understanding that the app you want to download “Human Coalition” is no longer available on the App Store and you’d like to have it added back to the catalog of apps. I am sure that you are looking forward to getting this issue resolved knowing how valuable your time is. I’ll do my best to assist you with this, and provide information with regard to this concern. Please be advised that the app was pulled in order to ease tension between the people who support it and those who don’t. The app developer would receive information as to the reason the app was removed. They can take that up with Apple if they believe the action was incorrect.
You are not privy to that information, and if you wish to develop your own determination as to why it happened, that is your prerogative.
I would say it's definitely politically motivated. According to the app publisher, Apple claims it removed the app due to "violations of certain functionality requirements" (see Why Did Apple Pull the Human Coalition Prayer App? - Human Coalition). However, checks for such requirements only occur when submitting updates, I've never heard of random checks for requirements like this. Due to the recent negative publicity the app received in left-wing publications, it's more likely the app was removed because of that, which would indicate a political bias on Apple's part.
A corporation is certainly within its rights to make business decisions based on its estimation of what will alienate the fewest number of customers and, yes, even on its corporate stance on political issues. And, as a customer, you have the option to not buy from Apple (or any company) if you disagree with what they do. For example, I won't patronize Hobby Lobby because of some of their corporate decisions.
Jerad, did Rene say anything else you about what was meant by “ease tension between the people who support it and those who don’t”
