Can’t install Windows 10 Fall Creators on Early 2015 MacBook 12-inch

I have:

- MacBook 12-inch (early 2015). MacBook 8.1

- macOS High Sierra 10.13

I want to install:

- Windows 10 Fall Creators

Downloaded from Microsoft Win10_1709_Spanish_x64.iso

Opened BootCamp, created selected the Windows iso, it creates the partition, and downloads compatibility software.

When the machine reboots, Windows 10 Installer loads, but the MacBooks keyboard and touchpad aren’t detected. Using an external usb keyboard+mouse I’m able to clic on Install but then a pop up appears saying something like this but in Spanish:

User uploaded file

It seems that BootCamp Assistant isn’t providing the neccesary drivers for the Windows Installation to go by. It’s seems something High Sierra - related since I’ve seen another user having problems. He was trying to install Windows 10 Anniversary, so it isn’t something related to Fall Creators, so it must be that the Bootcamp Assistant isn’t doing things as it’s expected to do.

Has anyone encountered any problems with High Sierra an new Bootcamp installations?

Thank you

MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), macOS High Sierra (10.13), null

It seems that Apple might really read this....

I tried again minutes ago to install it again.... and this time....when booting Windows setup, mouse and keyboard from the MacBook were usable, and a different screen saying install now appeared. No errors and the installation went through as it should.

So it seems, as I first thought, that there was a problem with the Bootcamp drivers not being integrated into the setup. Maybe, although Bootcamp Assistant said it was downloading compatibility software, it’d didn’t download any or all the neccesary files, because the Apple Server didn’t send them all or any other problem ‘server-side’. So when Windows setup tried to run....it didn’t have all the neccesary files to identify Apple hardware.

After the installation, Bootcamp setup version 6.1.6459, appeared. Is this a new version? Or

Thank you you very much for your help Loner!

Hi. Thank you for replying. I download it 4 times and checked that hash agains the correct one which is listed here: http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/302577-windows-10-1709-rs3-fall-creators-update -1629915-final-rtm-all-languages-links/?… and all 4 isos, had the same correct hash.

I’ve also read that after installing High Sierra and having the macOS volume converted to APFS, the Restart to OSX option when right clicking the Bootcamp Utility on Windows stops working and now the only way of booting into macOS is by maintaining Option key pressed when booting the system.

So maybe Apple has also to release updated windows 10 drivers and utilities. What I don’t understand is why they hadn’t at least posted a support document about High Sierra/APFS/Windows 10 Fall Creators issues. It’s difficult to image that no one at Apple hasn’t tried to clean install Windows 10 Fall Creators (which has been in beta for 6 months) onto a MacBook 12-inch with macOS High Sierras which has also been in beta for various months.

Can you install Anniversary (1607) first and then in-place upgrade to Fall ** (1709)?

I assume you have read the following note at Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) .

Mac customers using Boot Camp: Instead of performing a new install of Creators Update, download and install Windows 10 Anniversary Update ISO. Then install the Creators Update via the normal Windows update process. For more details click here.

The problem is Microsoft no longer provides the anniversary iso on their downloads page.... only Fall Creators. Anyway, I’d like a clean install of Fall Creator to avoid all the bloat that the system leaves when updating versions if I install Anniversary and then update...

That note refers to Creators Update from March, which had a problem during the installation on clean installs that showed an error, problem that, anyway, was solved with macOS 10.12.6 on May which addressed that issue.

This time with Fall Creators Update, the problem happens to be that Apple isn’t providing the Windows setup the drivers it needs to go by.

Microsoft then should also provide a method to accompany the note that they have so prominently displayed since Creators Update. But it does not help you right now.

The drivers can be separately downloaded, if necessary, but

Opened BootCamp, created selected the Windows iso, it creates the partition, and downloads compatibility software.

these should be the BC drivers. What are the missing drivers? The error screen indicates block corruption on the source ISO. Are you using a USB Flash drive to install Windows 1709?
