Brodit Cradle Cable not supported by iOS 11.x

I have been trying to get an answer from AppleCare but up to know have been given a quite preposterous reply.

Basically all three of our Brodit iPhone 6s car cradles stopped working (accesory not supported) at the same time on on both my iPhone 6s's. The failure coincided with the upgrade to iOS 11.'s

AppleCare's only reply was that is was Brodit's responsability to update the firmware of the cables every time Apple updates its software.

Has anyone found a solution, either how to downgrade the operating system or a way to get it to accept those cables? I find the idea that I have to spend £300 in new cradles plus the labour to swap them due to an iOS change quite tough to accept.

Thanks,

Andrew.

Whatever you think, Apple did not make those cradles or cables.

Apple is the platform and all 3rd parties have to test and go along, they might also have to update their firmware.

You should go after the manufacturer.

iOS changes all the time and the next is coming iOS 11.1.

And further down the road there will be more iOS updates, this is call progress.

FYI, this is a user to user technical forum. Apple is not here.

No matter what you think or find, your issue cannot be resolved in this forum.

And whether it's expensive or not is also irrelevant.

Again you bought the cable from a 3rd party, it's not made by Apple.

You should go after the company that makes the cradle / cables.

Enough said, good luck.

FWIW, My MFi certified car charger and lightning cable still works since 2012 (using iOS 6.0 all the way without skipping an updates till iOS 11.0.3)

And?

I have iPhone 3G, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s Plus, 7 and now 8 Plus with max iOS version on all iPhones.

I also have iPad 3rd generation, iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro 12.9".

I still have all 30 pins and lightning cables from the original boxes and are still been used.

I was also a developer for Windows and Mac.

I am retired now and enjoying my free time.

Anyway this is my last post, good luck.

No Apple cable, be them from Apple or any other manufacturer state that they are liable to no longer be functional due to Apple's policy of planned obsolecence or other marketing ploy.

Fact of the matter is that there is no physical change in the cable, there is no way for a consumer who has bought the cable to update it in any way. These cables are very expensive and it is absurd that a new Operating system makes a physically identical cable obsolete.

As a consumer and as investor I find this totally abhorrent.
