which charger should i get for iphone 5 - 1 amp or 2 amp?

I saw a cube style charger on amazon made by Zebra technologies that is a 2-amp charger. Apple's original charger sold with their phone is 1 amp. Is there an issue using a 2-amp charger? Would it mean a faster charge?

It makes no difference. An iPhone 5 will charge with any Made for iPhone USB power source that can supply 1 amp or more. There is no benefit with a 2 amp source for the iPhone 5 as the phone will never use more than 1 amp, regardless of how much is available; however, models from the 6 and up WILL charge slightly faster with a 2 amp power source. So if you may get a newer phone in the foreseeable future, go with a 12 watt (2.2 amp) Apple adapter or equivalent. Just make sure it is MFI certified.

2 amps should be fine, as higher amperage is not a problem with iPhones. They will only take as much as they need to a certain degree. Yes it may charge faster with 2 amps than 1. Though end results may vary.

With that said, the important factor is is the voltage. 5V If its not Certified, it may not be delivering exactly 5V. And if it goes over it can cause damage, and if its lower, it may cause charging issues.

As Idris points out its best to use a certified charger.
