My IPad Air 2 keyboard show both numbers and letters simultaneously.
the letters are bold and the numbers light.
How do I remove the numbers.

Hi. That's the new key flick feature. Turn it off at Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Key Flicks.

Those are there for Key Flick like stated in the post above and they also tell you how to turn them off. However, if you leave them on, if you want to type numbers, you just place your finger on the key like you are going to press it, but instead of just pressing and releasing, slide your finger down toward the bottom of the iPad without releasing and you'll use the punctuation that shows on the key instead of the highlighted key.
