iMessage Picture messages not downloading to Apple Watch

Whenever someone sends (texts or imessage) me a picture message, on the apple watch it just says press here to download and does not download or show the picture. I have the apple watch 3 with a iPhone 7 plus all on the newest operating systems. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi Barry Bressler,

I understand that when you receive a photo via Messages on your Apple Watch, you're unable to download or view the photo. I also see that both your Apple Watch and iPhone are up-to-date, I appreciate that information. I know it's important to be able to view your messages on your Apple Watch and I'm happy to help. I'd recommend first restarting your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then, restart your Apple Watch: How to restart your Apple Watch

Check to see if you're able to view or download the MMS messages you receive.

If not, I'd suggest unpairing your Apple Watch: Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone
Your iPhone will create a backup of the data on your Apple Watch during the unpairing process.

Then set it up with your iPhone again: Set up your Apple Watch
After you've paired the Apple Watch and iPhone, test your Messages app again and let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
