iTunes iPhone backup issue

So, I'm trying to download the IMs off my iPhone, and every instruction says to backup the iphone through iTunes and then find the 3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28 / 3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28.mddata file.

I back up my iPhone, and I can find the MobileSync > Backup folder in my Mac, but it doesn't have the file. (See screen cap.)

Thanks. No, my goal is to offload messages on my iPhone from my (no longer current) boss for archival purposes in case she decides to try anything. There are messages going back to last November, so doing screen shots aren't exactly time effective.

I know there's software out there, but don't have money to shell out anything and was shown this article as a way to get them outside of said app. Thanks.

I saw the article you linked. For what it's worth, I do not have any files with this name either.

If you restore your latest backup to an iOS device, the messages that were on the iPhone when the backup was created will be restored. Otherwise, in my opinion, the safest way to keep a record of previous messages is to screen shot them.
