Removing Malwarebytes Update Version popup ad
I have removed and uninstalled Malwarebytes and still get their pop up to update. If I search my hard drive
nothing shows up for Malwarebytes. Safari 11.0 High Sierra 10.13

Yes I did Eric. Thank you very much for the quick response. I am just curious why it happens if I have deleted everything Malwarebytes from my computer. Does it come through Safari? I'l be curious to see if it reappears. Thanks again
Gregory
You are welcome. Where are you seeing the popup? When using Safari?
Try running this program in your normal account, then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
Thank you Eric. The popup would appear in the upper right corner of the desktop. I did seem to only see it when I was
using Safari. I have run the uninstall and haven't seen it for an hour or two. If it does show up I'l try Etrecheck.
Thanks again
Gregory
What you were seeing were not ads, they were notifications that a new version of Malwarebytes was available to download and install. You can download updates for free, and you should do so as soon as they are available. Keeping your system and all software up-to-date is one of the most important thing you can do to keep yourself safe.
If you're not sure whether the notifications are legitimate, open the Malwarebytes application. If it also says there's a new version available, you should definitely install it.
