Cannot Bluetooth Pair with 2015 Toyota Camry

I cannot bluetooth pair my Apple Watch Series 3 (watchOS 4.0.1) with my 2015 Toyota Camry. When I try to pair it the first step of creating the Bluetooth PIN does work on watch and car system. They both show the random Bluetooth PIN 6 digit code. This is where the connection step should connect and pair but it does not. I have done a hard reboot of the watch. Turned on and off airplane mode. But have never been able to pair with the watch with the car. My Iphone 6+ iOS 11.0.3 has no problem pairing and connecting to the car. Has anyone else had pairing issues with the Apple Watch Series 3? Any recommendations on getting this to work with my car?

I suspect your problem is the Bluetooth version on a 2013 Camry. The idea of pairing with a watch wasn't thought of when that car was built and the Bluetooth can't be updated. My 2011 Camry wouldn't even give me contacts on the Radio. My 2017 gives me all my contacts. If my experience holds true, you might go in to the dealership and inquire if any of the salespeople can help you. My salesperson set up my whole phone-car thing up for me. He does a lot of them. He was going to put my wife's phone on as well as mine but I don't want both on there. Would be too confusing. I never thought to ask about the watch but for me that's unnecessary.

I have this same problem in my 2013 Toyota Camry. I can get to the pairing page on both the watch and car, pairing code is the same, and then it fails to pair.

In response to George: I want this to be able to play music in my car when I don't have my phone on me. The Series 3 with LTE is built to be able to function without a phone and as a runner and fitness junkie, sometimes I will travel in my car to go run with a friend at a park somewhere or go to the gym. The whole reason I bought this is to be able to do those things and not have to worry about locking my phone in a locker or leaving it in my car.

Yes, its a convenience thing, but I don't understand why a smart watch with the latest bluetooth and LTE and capability of playing music in any bluetooth headphones can't pair with standard bluetooth car audio.
