How do I upgrade an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel core duo beyond Mac OS X version 10.7.5
I run software update and am advised there is no update available
All browsers, Safari, Firefox and Chrome say that they no longer support OS X 10.7.5 so I need to find a way to upgrade what is otherwise a perfectly good Mac

You could try and download and use Waterfox.
This has bee developed by a lone developer and is based on the most current, up to date Mozilla Firefox code.
The very latest Waterfox update STILL runs on OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion.
It may still also run on OS X 10.7.5 Lion.
