How do I add my apple gift card to wallet using the gift card number?

Your gift card does not go into your Wallet. Instead, you redeem the gift card to your Apple ID.

I've just spoken to Apple Support, who told me that the feature has been disabled. They couldn't comment on whether it was only Apple Pay - compatible devices, or when/why the decision was made.

iTunes cards are added to an Apple ID, and Apple Store cards have been able to be added to Wallet before, but not anymore.

In the wallet app, tap on “Edit Passes” at the bottom of the screen. On the next screen tap on “Scan Code.” Scan the QR code on the back of the gift card, and you’ll be asked if you want to open Safari. Do that, and the card will show up and be added to wallet.

I’m in the same boat. I have 2 gift cards from my apple rewards credit card. There is no QR code in the email so they have to be entered manually. Now that’s not an option in Apple wallet. Awesome. 😒

Open your camera app. It will recognize the QR code and will give you a notification asking you to open in safari. Click on that, and it will prompt you to add the gift card to your wallet.

None of the answers provided except the one person who said it was disabled, the question was how to add an Apple Store gift card to the wallet when you only have the card number and pin
