What happened to the dbm signal strength display following iOS 11 upgrade?

Following iOS upgrade, the signal strength meter, which was previously set to display dbm signal strength for the mobile phone signal has reverted to bars.

WHY?

This no longer works after the iOS 11 upgrade! And using the previous code set of *3001#12345#* no longer works to activate this feature.

There is a workaround to see the signal strength indicator. You can't get it to display in place of the bars at the top of your screen but you are at least able to see the measurements. Here is a video that describes the procedure: iPhone Field Test Mode Signal Strength Indicator - YouTube

I do have that option (Verizon, iOS 11.0.3), but it does not reliably show any value. (Almost every time I enter the Serving Cell Measurements menu, none of the items display any value.)

Again, nice to know there may be a way to get the info at least sometimes, but it's not nearly as consistent or easy as it was before the feature was removed. :/ Fingers remain crossed.

Pretty p*ssed off here too! It was working. Nothing required but to leave it alone. Someone at Apple has gone out of their way to actively disable the functionality. Then, to make everyone even angrier, no one from Apple has the decency to respond to explain. Disgraceful behaviour. At least have the decency to front up and say why you've done what you've done.

Thanks. That's semi-helpful -- it's good to know the info is hidden in there somewhere. Unfortunately, I am not seeing the same menu options as you. I found Serving Cell Measurements on my initial screen (not on an LTE menu), but it doesn't offer the same options underneath. There's an Average RSRP and a Measured RSRP, but those numbers are seriously different and I'm not sure I trust either. (Average RSRP is ~-139dbm, which seems to map better to the single bar I'm seeing than the Measured value of -63dbm...)

I'll keep digging, though. Thanks!
