How to record screen without having PRO QuickTime?

Hi,

New MacBook 2017. Just downloaded QuickTime and I can't use any features because it says I need PRO. There's a little 'PRO' symbol next to all of the options.

What do I do to get around this? I want to record my screen but QuickTime PRO is discontinued and I have no idea what to do. All I want to do is record my screen.

Your Mac came pre-installed with QuickTime Player X. You can use that version to make screen recordings. You do not need the old QuickTime 7. Pro licenses for QT 7 are no longer available.
