Hi, I need some help. I am trying to play content from Amazon.com (they are purchased videos) and it works on my computer screen (it says HD), but when I plug into my tv it says can't play HD "because your display doesn't meet HDCP content protection requirements". What are the special HDMI adapters and cables I need to make this work? I will try it without my HDMI splitter and see if that helps.

I would imagine. But, they could also be defective.
If you regularly use videos purchased from Amazon, buy yourself a Fire TV stick. They're pretty cheap and they make the process much, much smoother.

I was referring specifically to your statement that you were getting movies from Amazon. If that is something you do regularly, a Fire TV stick is an excellent investment. As for anything else you may be trying to do, I can't tell you. But, I can't imagine that trying to view movies from Amazon through a browser and streaming it to a television is going to be a good experience.
Try using an HDMI Cable.
As I'm also a ClearPlay user (Amazon.ClearPlay.com), I've tried mirroring my MacBook to my TV (via Apple TV) and the Amazon playback is jumpy, using ClearPlay and without using ClearPlay. As soon as I connected my MacBook directly to my TV with an HDMI cable the playback is 1-to-1 and is no longer jumpy.
cool thanks SupermanUnlimited. I think it's my cheap adapter as i tried ClearPlaying Wonder Woman with my laptop and the same cable (it's a windows laptop and i didn't need to use an adapter) and it played in full HD. I'll have to shell out some money for an apple one then lol
When you try to plug what into your television? Your computer?
Yeah I'm using a third party adapter to connect the iMac to the tv via HDMI
The adapter might not be HDCP compliant. It might be defective. Adapters are something I generally stick to Apple.
Alright, I will check out an Apple one. I'm looking for a Thunderbolt to HDMI one... generally HDMI cables should work right?

well, it actually worked great on my laptop as stated lol. But yeah there are a lot more complications
