Hi


In addition to any apps that you have added to the Dock permanently, if they do not already include Now Playing, then it is normal for the Now Playing app to also be shown automatically in the Dock, as and when appropriate - and it cannot be removed in the same way as any apps that you have added permanently.


Now Playing is shown automatically when you watch or listen to supported media on your Apple Watch or iPhone.

Under watchOS 4.x, the Now Playing app is also configured by default to be shown automatically on Apple Watch upon raising your wrist when playing supported media on your iPhone (and for a short time afterwards).


To turn this feature off, if desired:


On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wake Screen > turn off Auto-Launch Audio Apps.
