Unable to play a song created on garageband for Mac?

Having created a "Song" on my iMac using Garage band and then storing it on my iCloud account. i went to extract and play the same "song" on my iPhone and iPad only to get an error message to say "Cannot Open Song" This song was created with Garageband for Mac and cannot be opened. Please select a song created with Garageband for iOS.

That is unfortunately the way it is. You can open GarageBand projects created on the iPad or iPhone in GarageBand on your iMac, because the iMac can convert the format. But GarageBand on the iPad or iPod cannot read the GarageBand projects that have been opened by GarageBand on the Mac or created on the Mac. If you want to listen to the project created on the Mac, share the song to iTunes as an audio file and sync it with iTunes to the Music.app on your iPhone or iPad.
