Iphone X in Japan and Europe (Sweden)

Hi

I am going to Japan and probably I will buy an Iphone X 256 GB while I am staying there.

How about if I would like to use it there (just data-sim) and then when I go back to Sweden I would like to use it with Talk and Data.

Which model is recommended to buy if I would like to use it in Sweden after my visit i Japan. I am bringing my iPhone 6 there so maybe I can use it to? I know data-sim works but I have never tried if talk+data sim is working.

As far as I can see there are three models:

- A1865

- A1901

- A1902 (looks exclusive for the Japanese market)

What is recommended?

Good luck believing you will be able to walk in and purchase an iPhone X that easily. The supply is going to be quite limited. You will also need to find out if you can get an unlocked version, as most phones sold in Japan are carrier locked. You would need to find out from the carrier you use in Sweden which model will work with their network. Also, the iPhone's warranty is generally restricted to the country of purchase, so that could be an issue for you when you return to Sweden too.

You need to determine if iPhone's sold in Japan are carrier locked like they are in the US. If they are, you may have an issue getting the carrier in Japan to unlock the phone to be used in Sweden. If you can get past that, the next thing you need to determine is what version the carrier in Sweden uses such as GSM or CDMA. You'd want to buy the model that is compatible with the carrier you want to use in Sweden.
