Ok, so I have a mac and I want to message a friend but I don't have a iPhone (Or any phone)
so I cant connect imessages to My iPhone to Sync my contacts any suggestions?
You can use Google Hangouts if your friends use that.
Otherwise, you absolutely need an iPhone to send SMS messages to non Apple Devices from a Mac.
The iMessage system connects to other Apple devices.
It can also connect to SMS text messages provided you set that up on your iPhone.

You can use Continuity to connect your Mac to your iPhone and send Messages to other non Apple devices from your Mac.
