Netflix not showing preview images when scrolling within a title

On Apple TV 4 when scrolling through a show with the Apple remote (sliding your finger across the touch pad to find a scene) the Netflix app no longer shows the scene preview image as you scroll, only the time marker. This behavior seems unique to the Apple TV and does not repeat with the Netflix app on other systems such as Xbox or Playstation. This has been a consistent issue for a couple of weeks, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not seem to resolve it. I assume this is a bug and not an intended downgrade of the app, but it seems like a long time for the issue to be continuing given how annoying it is. I also don't seem to be able to find any posts of others experiencing the same issue, although maybe this is due to my inability to properly describe the problem via search terms.
