Was it W10 Recovery which was erased and called 'Spare'? If you really want to get rid of it, you will have to wipe/re-install both OSes again.

You had two containers that we deleted. The Spare is the disk space that came from the second container.

Unless you want the 900MB back, which requires a bit of disk work, I suggest ignoring the spare.

Sorry last post didn’t’ read very well…


I ran a Time Machine backup - Rebooted into internet recovery, wiped all the partitions and and ran a time machine restore.

Which brought me back to just one APFS container.

I ran bootcamp assistant and installed win10 but somehow I ended up with the "spare" partition. Obviously it wasn't called spare initially that evolved after I had tried a number of different thing to try and delete it.
