Can't set up Apple Watch with iPhone 5 after upgrade.

Hi!

My Apple Watch is stuck in a loop after I updated my iPhone 5. Here's what happened.

- I was setting up an Apple Watch 1 that I got from a friend. And I wanted to upgrade the watchs software.

- After some googling I realized I needed to update mye iPhone first, so I updated my iPhone 5 to 10.3.3. Turns out I can't get ios 11 because the phone is too old.

- Then when I try to connect my iPhone to the watch it askes me if I want to update. If I answer yes it says that the watch already has the latest watchOS 2.2.1, and the watch is stuck on this screen:

I then have to turn off the watch or reset it. Either way when I turn it back on it asks me to pair the watch with the phone. If I try to cancel the upgrade of the watch on my phone the watch turn off.

So I'm stuck. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hi

If the Apple Watch has been updated to watchOS 4.x, then it cannot be paired with an iPhone 5.

An iPhone 5s or newer model of iPhone is required, running the latest version of iOS 11.x:

Otherwise, follow the instructions here, including contacting Apple Support via the link in the article if necessary:

Erasing an Apple Watch does not restore it to its original software. It remains on the watchOS version to which it was last updated.

However, if you are confident that the Apple Watch has not been updated to watchOS 4.x, then follow the instructions here, including under the heading "Get help" and including contacting Apple Support via the link in the article if necessary:

The watch was totally reset before I got it, so it should have it's original software. Also the problem occurred after I updated the iphone to 10.3.3. Before that the phone and watch was paired and both working fine. As far as I know watchOS 4 won’t even be available when my phone is too old, so I’m 100% sure it doesn’t have watchOS 4.

The iPhone says the watch has watchOS 2.2.1, but whenever I try to pair them after I updated the iPhone the Watch gets stuck. It says I need to upgrade the watch, but then it says that the watch already has the latest software (watchOS 2.2.1).
