Does the application appear in the Purchased pages? It has to be there to update. Are you logged in with the Apple ID used to purchase it?

Yes. Move the existing app to the trash and reinstall.

Removing the app won’t affect your media. You might want to make a zip file of the version you have before you trash it, and make a backup of your libraries before you update in case there a problem. There is no backwards compatible once the libraries have been updated to the new version.

What Tom and Luis are saying is to reinstall the Program .. it does not appear as an update on the Purchased page.
