Contact owner of lost , stolen ipad

I purchased a iPad mini 2 , off eBay on Apr 2nd 2017. The seller mng1028 stated he was the owner. The iPad was brand new. After I received the iPad I registered it with Apple. I also opened a Verizon wireless account , on Aug 23th 2017 , the iPad was flagged by Apple / Verizon. I'm being told I'm not the original owner and It is listed on someone's else's account. No one is willing to reach out to the original owner and try to resolved this issue.

In not so many words , Verizon had stated the person that sold me the iPad is shady , that's telling me mng1028 or Michael Ng is his name and / or Alyssa Ng his wife which also goes by Alyssa Chin , Alyssa Lee Chin are the persons that probably reported It and or stole the iPad.

I'm willing to give my email address and cell phone number to Apple / Verizon so that the original owner can contact me ?

Neither Apple nor Verizon are willing to get involved in a civil matter. It sounds like you have purchased stolen property.

If you are not able to contact the seller and get a refund, it would make sense to report the issue to the police.

First off, you are not my customer. This is a user forum made up of Apple product users just like you.

Second, the IMEI is sensitive information, and posting it on the forum allows you to be identified and violates the terms of service you agreed to.

Third, Apple has a lot of stuff going on, but they simply don't have the ability or the desire to get into the law enforcement business. Buying a product on eBay opens you up to the possible consequences. Help me understand why Apple and Verizon should get involved in a private deal that they have no part of, but eBay is not being held responsible for allowing stolen property on their website?

I hope you get your money back. I hope even more that this is a learning experience and you don't buy stolen stuff online anymore.

First off , I know I'm not your customer , When I purchased the iPad it wasn't reported as stolen , it was reported 5 months later. Apple allowed me to register the iPad that had already been registered by another customer as in the original owner , Your telling me Apple with all there computer know how , that there system could not pick that up ? I forgot , they have to many other things going on other than working on a program to detect this type of issue ? Thats a load of you know what.

To follow up with , you hope I don't buy stolen stuff online anymore ? If I knew it was going to be reported as stolen I sure in the **** would not have purchased the iPad and/or any other item as well. Thats just a SFS by you.
