Bluetooth keyboard "Device does not have the necessary service" ?

I've got an Apple Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard. The D-Link DBT-120 is connected directly into one of the two usb ports on the back of the Mac G4 (not into the USB hub -- my mouse was not connecting until I put the D-Link directly into one of the two usb ports)

Both are discoverable and show up in my favorite devices. The mouse connects, but the keyboard message I get is: "Device does not have the necessary service" -- whatever that means ? ? ? ...

I changed to a fresh set of AA batteries. I turned the keyboard switch off for 10 seconds, turned it on (yes the light vomes on and blinks), then tried to "browse" the keyboard, and get the same message: "Device does not have the necessary service" -- I tried restarting and going through the same steps.

I've tried everything I can think of and still can't get the wireless keyboard to connect.

Anyone have this problem and a solution?
