Fetch Album Artwork for Individual Songs Onl

I've been cleaning up my iTunes library, and it appears that the "get album artwork" command no longer works for only individual files. Whether I fetch album artwork from the file-->library-->get album artwork or I right click on the album cover in "get info", iTunes works on album artwork for the entire library. You used to be able to fetch artwork for only the songs you selected. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ah, I understand now. Since my library has art for nearly everything this isn't something I've looked at lately. Try the Songs view, enable Show Artwork and Always Show from View > Show View Options if needed, then right click on a particular blank cover and click Get Album Artwork. It only tries to fetch one image for me.

I don't think it is broken. The clue is in the term Album Artwork. An album is a single entity in the database containing one or more tracks. If at least one track from the album has artwork associated or downloaded then that image can be used to represent the album everywhere. If you want to add different images to different tracks or multiple images to any given track by hand then you're free to do so.

Sorry, I should have clarified. Manually adding artwork isn’t a problem- and it works as it should. I’m having problems with the “get album artwork” function, where Apple fetches it for you. Even if I select only one song and try to fetch it, the iTunes application jumps into “processing album artwork” for all 10,000 albums in my library. I can’t force it to automatically fetch artwork for only one song or album.
