Use computer when Time Machine backing up?

Can you use your computer while Time Machine is backing up ... or should you wait til the backup is completed?

Hi,

You can definitely use your Mac in any way you want when TM is running a backup, as Apple says: "You can continue using your Mac while a backup is underway."

Feel free to use the computer. Time Machine will continue in the background, staying out of your way as much as possible.

One thing I try to avoid while Time Machine is running is shutting down the computer. Everything else is OK, in my opinion.
