HP Photosmart 8050 will not installl under bluetooth - Can't find driver!
I have an HP Photosmart 8050. You can supposedly print to it via Bluetooth using a USB Bluetooth dongle. You plug the dongle into the printer in the front (there is a separate USB port on the printer for this dongle.)
Anyway, the printer works great using a USB device cable connected to it and my Mac Book Pro. But, I can't get it to work via Bluetooth.
I can see the printer via the "Setup Bluetooth Device" through the Bluetooth pull down menu. It goes through the install and then bombs out at the last step. I get an error that says it can't find the appropriate driver for this device.
I called HP and they said it should install no problem under 10.4.8. I was on the phone with HP's tech support for about 30 minutes and we tried installing it all sorts of ways and reinstalled the software several times. None of the solutions they had me try worked and the conversation ended with them telling me it was Apple's problem. They told me to call Apple to fix it!
