why are my text messages deleting themselves?

For the past few months my phone has not been giving me notifications when I receive text messages, deleting text messages others send me, and has not been letting me see all the messages I receive.

Are you out of storage? Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. You should have at least 10% free.


You might also check Settings > Messages > MESSAGE HISTORY - Keep Messages. Adjust the length of time if needed.
