iPhone X - SoC Capabilities

Hi,

I will start off simply as the main information I actually need and then move through replies of the thread getting more and more technical.

Firstly can I ask what LTE UE Category the iPhone X supports and what the actual SoC chip's capabilities actually is i.e if it's limited via iOS (Software side of things) for whatever reason.

I also have some more technical questions specifically regarding the architecture of the (SoC) A11 Bionic Chip which will be in a reply to this forum once a forum member can provide answers to the queries I have.

It seems really basic and doesn't really explain much .. compared to Qualcomm's as a example listing download and upload limits. (Cat 16 is capable of 1Gb/s)User uploaded file

Anyways thanks for your help I'll see what Apple's head office says when they reply to my email.

This contains the technical specs of the iPhone X that Apple releases. They will not release any further information, and I really doubt they will release information about their chips.

You're likely asking questions that would be better directed to an Apple Engineer. This is a user to user support forum and I'd be very surprised if any of us users know the technical details you're seeking. You can see the very same technical specifications Apple publishes for the phone on Apple.com

Knowing the specifications of a device can help you determine if the device is future proof with cellular networks moving to different levels of carrier aggression (as a example) all other major cell phone manufactures post it for example Samsung and Oneplus it seems odd Apple don't.

I've sent a email to Apple's head office regarding this.

The things you are asking about are Apple proprietary technology and they, like any company, will simply not give out detailed technical specs about their in-house designed chips and technology. You can read their public patents, public product tech specs and see what their public aop’s and programming support documents say about capabilites . But beyond that, Apple, like every tech company, closely guards their proprietary technologies.

Sure I'm aware certain topics and certain things regarding the chips will never be released and I respect any company for protecting that information.

Please remember all I have asked up to now is basic information regarding the LTE capabilities that should be provided by any mobile manufacture (this allows you to see if a mobile will connect to certain masts and services) this is why it's available on more a less every other major phones website spec list.

That webpage just shows generic information it isn't device specific... nor does it go into the technicalities of specific devices capabilities.
