Videos from SD card not importing into Photos 3.0

Starting with the upgrade to Photos Version 3.0 videos no longer import into the Photos app from an SD card. JPEG photos import just fine, it is only the videos that are not imported. Thankfully I happen to notice the videos were not imported before formatting the SD card.

The camera model is Sony A55. I have reformatted the SD card and get the same results after several tests.

This problem started with the update to Photos 3.0. The previous version of Photos imported the videos just fine using the same camera and SD card. The computer is an 1mac (27-inch, Mid 2010) with masOS High Sierra Version 10.13.

As a partial workaround it is possable to copy the contents of the SD card to the imac hard disk using Finder. Then use the Photos File + Import... command. However, with this method the metadata of the video, such as the date and time the video was recorded will not be the import into Photos. Instead the date and time of the video shows as the import date and time.

Just tested on mine and video imported with no issues. This was from SD card out of my Canon Camera T3.

I have the same issue. With Photos 3.0 I can no longer import videos from the SD card or directly from my camera or phone. Besides that, I can't import jpgs that I create with other software, such as Swift Publisher. I've always been able to do that in the past.
